If you’ve ever wanted to turn around and give up

Lifestyle

When your body and energy continue to send signals that something isn’t quite right, when you’re ready for something different, you make a choice to implement something new. While changing the state of your health often starts with simple actions, it is not easy.

Many people struggle with taking that 1st step. Others feel an initial surge of energy and excitement, that can turn into a sense of defeat and hopelessness as the initial adrenaline subsides.

These first steps, as we are trudging through the grit, ready to release old habits, this is where we dig deep. We find the courage within ourselves to keep going.

One day at a time, one step at a time, one stage at a time.

This stage does not last forever, but rather it’s a transition that will eventually feel easier as you get stronger and more comfortable with who you are becoming. You continue to build self-trust and confidence that you are worth the hard work. You begin to notice changes within yourself, you see the light ahead and sense the unfolding of growth and renewal, and you continue to build upon habit shifts.

But this part, the part we all hate, I was reminded of recently as I trudged through the icy mashed-potato snow during my weekly hiking date with my husband and dog. Some parts I skidded on a layer of ice, and other areas my foot unexpectedly dropped into 5” of slush, throwing me off-balance, as I was looking at the dirty snow around me and holding onto a bag of my dog’s poop. The woods are usually my sanctuary, but I hated this particular day’s outing, couldn’t wait for it to be over. This is the part no one likes to talk about. But it’s a necessary part of change. It’s where a lot of people turn around and give up.

I assure you with guidance and support, you will get through this transition. If you are looking at this current season of your life as it is outside in New England, notoriously known around here as mud season, knowing you want to make changes for the spring renewal ahead, ready to release the proverbial shit you have been holding, this is the work I do with patients inside the Illuminate Phase, and spring is the perfect time to begin. Head on over to the services page to see how you can get started and book your visit.

You are worth the grit.
